John
Smyth B.Sc., C.Eng., M.C.I.B.S.E., F.Cons.E.
John Smyth joined the Practice upon graduation
from the University of Dundee in 1985. He was promoted to Associate
in 1993 and became a Partner in 1998. He has in-depth experience
in many different spheres, from educational projects to leisure
complexes, from private & public housing to hotel developments.
John oversees the Design production process
and as such he is involved with team co-ordination, project management,
cost control and Quality control.
David
Cromie, B.Eng. (Hons)., C.Eng., M.CI.B.S.E., A.M.S.L.L., M.a.P.S.
David Cromie is a very experienced Engineer
with a wide portfolio of commissions. Most recently he has been
specialising in municipal buildings schemes – both new and
refurbishment projects. He is also very experienced in residential
developments, both public and private and those with mid and high-level
nursing care. He has been the Practice’s lead engineer in
recent new Church Building projects.
David provides Planning Health & Safety
advice throughout the Practice, serves on the committee of the Chartered
Institution of Building Services Engineers, and mentors prospective
applicants.
Brendan
O’Hara B.Eng. (Hons)., C.Eng., M.C.I.B.S.E.
Joined Cogan and Shackleton in 1985, after
several years experience in the electronics field. He was promoted
to Electrical Associate in 1997 and became a Partner in 2000. He
is particularly experienced in industrial/manufacturing process
projects and schemes with a high degree of automated controls.
Like other Partners he keeps himself abreast
of current trends and technological changes through CPD and internal
training programmes and is fully trained in; classroom 2000, controlled
access incorporating CCTV, energy efficient artificial lighting
and controls, current fire alarm and emergency lighting standards,
disabled access
John
McReynolds B.Sc.(Hons), Dip.Ed.
John McReynolds joined Cogan & Shackleton
in 1983 to develop their software division and market Electrical
Design software. He currently organises the administration within
the Partnership with overall responsibility for technical and computing
matters.
John has responsibility for implementing
and auditing Quality Assurance within the Practice
The professional staff are supported by
a team of Engineers and Technicians with relevant training and experience
in engineering and in the use of AutoCAD and other design software.
.
Staff take an active role in their associated
professional bodies, as evidenced by their committee involvement,
keeping abreast of latest developments in their own and related
fields. All members of the Practice are similarly involved and are
encouraged to avail of all training projects and continual professional
development opportunities.
Currently 5 members of staff are undertaking
external training, two at degree level.
